A Stylish Content Creator Shares Her Little Black Book of Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi is a foodie’s dream. Whether it’s authentic Arabic flavours or international delights, there’s always something to satisfy any craving. For breakfast, Tasha’s is a family favourite – relaxed, delicious and always a great start to the day. Another favourite is Zali Restaurant in Al Bateen, a Lebanese fusion spot with a heartwarming story behind it. It’s homey yet elevated, and a great option for breakfast.
For lunch, I love Em Sherif Café. It’s the perfect place for an authentic Lebanese feast and the view of the Corniche makes it even better. Another great pick is Soraya Restaurant on Yas Island – its Persian dishes are so rich in flavour.
For dinner, Zuma is always a top pick. From the flavours to the atmosphere, it never disappoints. I also love Strawfire, a new Japanese restaurant at Emirates Palace. The venue, the food and the ambience are incredible.
A new find is Taparelle Restaurant and it’s already a favourite. Located in Manarat Al Saadiyat, its beautiful, artistic setting makes it feel like more than just a restaurant. The spot’s wood-fired oven pizza is a must-try – the crispy crust is perfection. My favourite cafés are Tashas and OsK Croissanterie. They’re the perfect spots for great coffee, a good meal, catching up on work or just enjoying some me-time. You’ll find me here on weekends before a trip to The Galleria Mall with the kids followed by an outdoorsy activity – usually Saadiyat Beach for some family time.
I’m eager to visit Surf Abu Dhabi in Hudayriat Island. Beyond the surf experience, the venue has two restaurants and lounges that I’ve heard great things about.
My favourite meal has to be Mahashi. For me, Mahshi Malfoof (stuffed cabbage) and Mloukhiyyeh (jute’s mallow) are true Arabic comfort food at its finest. But if we’re talking Western food, nothing beats a good burger. I would say the best burgers in Abu Dhabi are found at Butcher & Still and Maté. Butcher & Still is all about that classic American-style juicy burger, while Maté offers a unique Argentinian twist.
My favourite beauty salon to visit is Artistic Salon. Whether it’s a quick refresh or a full glam moment, this place never disappoints. I’ve been going to Wassim at Artistic since I got married and I honestly don’t trust anyone else with my hair.
A great hotel to stay in is St. Regis Saadiyat Island. It’s pure luxury with breathtaking views – like a mini vacation within the city.
For stylish and contemporary interiors, I love Bloomr and Ebarza. When I’m shopping online, Klekktic is my go-to. I tend to gravitate towards minimalistic interiors, but recently I’ve been adding pops of colour. One of my favourite recent additions – a gift – is a vibrant, colourful painting by Dubai-based, Spanish artist Chef Burger. It has instantly changed the vibe of my space and made my home feel livelier.
When it comes to local designers, I love Neven Elkady. She’s a talented Palestinian fashion designer with an incredible story behind her work. She blends culture with modernity, creating pieces that are both unique and elegant. The best part? She customises anything you want, making each design truly personal.
My favourite boutiques to shop at are El Botik and Taste of Home. El Botik is a must-visit for unique fashion finds, while Taste of Home is a beautiful concept store featuring accessories, fashion and homeware from Palestine, Jordan and Syria. If I could shop in one place, it would be The Galleria Mall. It’s my go-to for everything, but if we’re talking department stores, Tryano always has the best selection.
Abu Dhabi’s best-kept secret? Souq Mina. It’s home to some hidden-gem restaurants and cafés. One of my favourites is Marmelleta, a family-run spot with amazing food. And if you want a Maldives-like experience without leaving Abu Dhabi, rent a boat from Emirates Palace and ask the captain to take you to the blue crystal water islands – breathtaking. You also can’t leave Abu Dhabi without trying the fish market experience. Fresh seafood, straight from the source – it doesn’t get better than that.
It doesn’t get much better than Mamsha Al Saadiyat. Beach, coffee, lunch and a scenic walk – all in one spot. What’s not to love? For a city escape, I love Santorini Anantara Hotel. It’s a dreamy getaway that feels like a different world.
The best place to work out is Believe Your Body and My Reform. Both are amazing for keeping active and feeling strong.
My go-to beauty destination is The St. Regis Abu Dhabi Spa – it’s pure luxury and relaxation. For a more rejuvenating experience, the Anantara Turkish Hammam is my favourite.
For culture, the Saadiyat Cultural District is a must. It’s home to the Louvre Abu Dhabi and Manarat Al Saadiyat, where you’ll always find exciting exhibitions. I also have a soft spot for Qasr Al Hosn – so much history and beauty in one place. The best events in Abu Dhabi, in my opinion, would be BRED Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Nights and Formula 1. They’re always highlights of the year.
My most recent fashion discovery is ARAKII. I stumbled across the brand by chance while scrolling Instagram – a styling video popped up on my explore page, featuring an incredible Sculpted Blazer Dress. It caught my eye instantly, and I had to know where it was from. One quick search, and boom, I was hooked on its designs. If you know me, you know I’m all about blazers – any season, any occasion – so naturally, I had to get this one. Since it’s on the shorter side, I style it with sheer tights for a sleek evening look or layer it over tailored trousers for a sharp, fashion-forward edge. Mark my words, this brand is about to blow up.
My favourite fashion memory? Milan Fashion Week, September 2016 – an absolute dream come true. When I started my blog, I was obsessed with fashion week street style, scrolling endlessly and imagining myself there one day. Back then, getting an invite wasn’t as easy as it is now, so when I finally received my first – Max Mara, no less – I was in total disbelief. Then came a second… and a third! That season, I attended three shows in Milan. Walking the city’s streets during fashion week, surrounded by photographers and fashion’s biggest names, felt utterly surreal. It was one of those pinch-me moments when I realised I was living a dream I once thought was impossible.
The best gift I’ve ever received? My YSL ICARE Maxi Shopping Bag. My husband gifted it to me when I was pregnant with our second child and I’ve been wearing it non-stop for two years now. It’s stylish, practical and big enough to carry everything – the perfect mum bag.
My most recent fashion purchase was a pair of black trousers from Weekend Max Mara. I picked them up in Madrid and let’s just say – it was a shopping spree. Totally worth it, as they are a true wardrobe staple.
