A flagship initiative by Friends of Cancer Patients, Pink Caravan has been at the forefront of breast cancer awareness and early detection across the UAE since its launch in 2011. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, this amazing campaign falls under FOCP’s broader ‘Kashf’ programme. Each October, Pink Caravan mobilises moving clinics and expert teams across the Emirates to offer free breast screenings (for women over the age of 40), clinical exams, and educational resources. Be sure to keep an eye out for its locations and dates on the website and Instagram page.

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) is offering free mammogram screenings across some of its healthcare centres in  Abu Dhabi and Al Ain in October. Women between the ages of 40 and 60 are eligible for free mammograms, while breast cancer screenings are available at no cost to women of all ages. Appointments can be easily scheduled by calling the SEHA call centre at 80050, making early detection more accessible to women across the UAE. Be sure to check the website regularly for updates on which locations offer the free service.
