1. The Power Piece
“I love trench coats. I find them incredibly charismatic, and they’re the only thing you need to look good in winter. They’re easy to slip on, protect you from wind and rain, and look fantastic with both tailored clothing and casualwear. The Frankie Shop has great ones, and I particularly like the Mavis oversized trench in khaki.”
2. The Shoe
“I’ve been eyeing Khaite’s Dallas 45 cowboy boots for a while, and I think they’ll be a perfect, timeless addition to my fall/winter wardrobe. I love western boots because they instantly add a cool twist to any look and give a little extra height for added confidence.”
3. Trousers Or Skirt
“I love both, depending on my mood. My masculine side gravitates toward well-tailored trousers, while my feminine side opts for a floor-length flared skirt. This season, I spotted some great pieces at A.W.A.K.E Mode. I love how they blend sophistication with a modern twist, creating timeless designs and I’m torn between their upcycled gathered denim maxi skirt and high rise balloon pants.”
4. The Bag
“I like to keep things simple and efficient during the day, carrying two different tote bags, one for my office essentials and another for my gym clothes. When it comes to evening outings, I never go out without one of my Vanina bejeweled bags and currently I have the Sables Mouvant Clutch and Soubresaut Pearl Clutch on rotation.”
5. The Party Piece
“For party attire, I always opt for a piece from my vintage store, Nouvelle Vague. Whether it’s an embellished bolero or an 80s dress with dramatic details like this metallic Lillie Rubin bustier dress, they effortlessly add a fun and unexpected touch. I suppose that’s why I love vintage so much!”
6. Beauty Essential
“I recently discovered this trio of fabulous lip balms from Goop, Clear, Garnet and Rose and the Rose shade is my favorite. It’s the only makeup I wear during the day. I put it on my lips, then blend a little onto my cheeks. They are perfect for an effortless and natural look.”
7. The Beauty Tool
“I love my KORA Organics Rose Quartz Heart Facial Sculptor tool. It’s a beautiful way to wake up your skin especially when used with your favorite oil or serum.”
8. Skincare Hero
“A new miracle product I've been using for the past month is the 'Illuminating Magic Oil' by Whind, a Moroccan brand that embraces Arab beauty rituals with a contemporary twist. The effect of the oil is magical—it deeply nourishes, hydrates, and gives an instant glow. Plus, it smells divine!”
9. The Scent
“This summer in Portofino, I stumbled upon a charming boutique that specialises in artisanal, limited-edition fragrances. I discovered so many amazing brand, but had a special crush on a french brand called Houbigant. My husband and I love wearing the same perfume, and we chose the scent Oud Or together. Its smoky, woody oud scent reminds us of our region."
10. Interiors Buy
“I would love to buy a pair of ‘Basculant’ armchairs by Le Corbusier, and ideally, in natural cowhide. I really love to mix modern furniture with vintage, as it allows me to infuse my home with some old-world sophistication!”
11. The Art
“I admire Gerhard Richter so much. But not exactly for what he did, but because of how he did it. He changed so many times, he did one style, then other, and other, but all connected in some ways I found so interesting and motivating. When you think you know him, he does something new but in essence he keeps a coherent work. I just love that in an artist.
Today, his works are held in the collections of the Art Institute of Chicago, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Tate Gallery in London, and the Albertina in Vienna.”
12. The Gadget
“When it comes to technology, I’m right in the middle – I can handle the basics but not much beyond that. I'm not very tech-savvy; I’m an old soul who still writes notes in notebooks and reads physical books.”
13. The Book
“As a parent of two young children, I'm currently very focused on educational books. I’ve been reading Dr. Shefali Tsabary's work for a while now and love her approach. She is a wealth of knowledge and a beacon of the conscious parenting approach. Right now, I’m reading her book, The Parenting Map.”
14. Hostess Gift
“I love supporting local artists and artisans, so most of my gifts are locally produced items, ranging from delicate glass vases to scented candles and wicker baskets. I find these wonderful pieces at Beit Kanz, a restaurant and boutique that highlights the elegant talent of local artisans and their remarkable artistic skills. It's difficult to name a particular brand since most of the items are artisanal and produced by independent artisans.”
15. Tablescaping Essential
“My all-time favorite table accessory is a hand-embroidered table cover made by my grandmother. I have a deep emotional attachment to this handcrafted piece because it connects me to her and reminds me that my love for handicrafts and sewing has been passed down from her.”
16. Fashion Lust List
“Being in the fashion design industry and involved in creating clothes, I don’t buy many items. Most of the things I wear are either created through my brand, Vanina, or sourced from my vintage shop, Nouvelle Vague. I do enjoy picking up some great basics at the start of each season, as I love layering them under statement pieces. This season, I am really looking forward to wearing our latest high-knee boots, and handmade leather-fringed vest.”
