A Stylish Dubai Expat Shares Everything She’s Loving

We’re big fans of Mimi Labouchere Waney’s polished and grown-up approach to fashion, which is why she was the natural choice of model for Étoile's Ramadan campaign, shot by our sister company Luxe & Co. Here we ask the British-born, Dubai-based model to share everything from the trends she loves to where she finds fresh inspiration…

My favourite brand this season is Khaite. Because my style is elegant, comfortable, elevated, I tend to go for classic, timeless pieces that feel elegant but always comfortable. My base is simple, then I level-up with the accessories. I love a workout set from Alo Yoga; I used to purchase something every time I visited New York but they have finally opened in Dubai Mall. RE/DONE jeans fit me really well and the styles are so versatile. For accessories, my most worn are from YSL – they strike the perfect balance between classy and cool.

This season, I’ve been loving the colour trends. Red accessories have definitely made their way into my wardrobe of late. I’ve also enjoyed wearing chunkier metallic accessories – statement earrings or cuffs are a great way to add something special to your look. I recently purchased a Tiffany & Co x Elsa Peretti cuff and I love it. It’s so special and always elevates even the simplest of outfits.

Because my style is ELEGANT, COMFORTABLE, ELEVATED, I tend to go for classic, timeless pieces that FEEL ELEGANT but always COMFORTABLE.

Top of my wish list right now is the 'Yves Uro' jumpsuit from Second Summer Label. It’s perfect for warm summer nights. The 'Mimi' slippers from Alameda Turquesa are also high on my list and the Hermès Chypre sandals are still on my mind – I’m hoping I can get my hands on the very specific colour way that I've been searching for this year.

Rowen Rose, Arcina Ori and Posse are some of my favourite under-the-radar brands. I love the signature heart detailing in the Rowen Rose pieces – many of which are so feminine and fun – while Arcina Ori has that vintage appeal. Posse’s co-ords are also so covetable.

My most-used bag at the moment is a Chanel wallet on a chain in black caviar with silver hardware. I bought it towards the end of last year, and it's been my go-to ever since. It's compact and sleek but can still fit my phone. The chain can be worn long across the body but it also shortens if you wrap it around the flap. It just works for every occasion.

For outfit inspiration, I’m loving Deborah Symond O’Neil. She’s based in Australia and I love her daily outfit posts. Her aesthetic is always comfortable and cool – just my vibe. For interiors inspo, I can’t get enough of the Rockett St George account right now.

The fashion scene in Dubai reflects its diverse demographic. It’s a melting pot of many different cultures and nationalities and I love the influence that can have on your personal style. Plus, Dubai Mall is up there when it comes to some of the world’s best shopping destinations; it has all you could possibly want. I also have a soft spot for Madison Avenue in New York, and Bicester Village in the UK – great for snapping up a bargain.

One of my ride-or-die beauty brands is Hourglass – the powder and concealer are great. My go-to lipliner is by HINDASH and the Charlotte Tilbury bronzer and highlighter palette deserves an honourable mention. For skincare, medical grade hyaluronic acid is a must in my routine. It's been a saviour for my skin, and iS Clinical is a go-to brand for me.

For skincare, MEDICAL GRADE HYALURONIC ACID is a must in MY ROUTINE.

My favourite place for brunch is Tashas at Galleria Mall. For a coffee, The Grey on Al Wasl Road in Jumeirah. My favourite workout spot is Studio 14 for Pilates, in Umm Sequim. It’s a boutique studio with great accessibility and there is a fab coffee shop called Nostalgia next door. My favourite place for a girls’ night out has to be Twiggy – the interiors are cool and fun and the vibes never miss. Otherwise, honourable mentions have to go to The Arts Club Dubai, Roka, Mythos, LPM and La Maison Ani – all great options for a really special meal out.
