Sharjah Art Foundation

Running until 15th June, the Sharjah Biennial 16 brings together over 190 artists and 300 works across multiple venues, from Sharjah City to the serene landscapes of Kalba and Al Madam. Under the theme ‘to carry’, this edition explores the weight of history, identity and artistic expression through exhibitions, performances and film screenings. With its opening programme now underway, the Biennial is set to offer a season of thought-provoking art and cultural dialogue.

EXHIBITION

Islamic Arts Biennale 2025

Returning to Jeddah’s Western Hajj Terminal from now until 25th May, the Islamic Arts Biennale 2025 offers a stunning exploration of faith, heritage and contemporary creativity. This year’s theme, ‘and all that is in between’, brings together over 500 historical artifacts and contemporary works, including the first-ever display of the full Kiswah – the sacred cloth of the Kaaba – outside its usual setting. With contributions from institutions like the Louvre and the Victoria & Albert Museum, it’s a must-visit for art and culture enthusiasts.

CONCERT

Gwen Stefani

Pop icon Gwen Stefani is set to make her Abu Dhabi debut on 21st February as part of the city's Saadiyat Nights music series. Known for hits like ‘Hollaback Girl’ and ‘The Sweet Escape’, the triple Grammy Award-winner will take the stage just before Lionel Richie closes the event on 22nd February.

Strawfire by Ross Shonhan

For an intimate dining experience with a cultural touch, Strawfire by Ross Shonhan at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, Abu Dhabi has a new exclusive dining concept. The Toyama Private Dining Room is inspired by Japan’s region of the same name. The space is home to the world’s largest synthetic Shimenawa rope – a striking 7.3m, 830kg masterpiece handcrafted by Nawawaseya artisans. Symbolising protection and tradition, it sets the scene for a refined, immersive take on Japanese dining in the UAE.

For a wellness escape like no other, Snoopy Retreats and Casa Sensoria are hosting The Rising Sun Retreat from 14th-16th February at Sandy Beach Resort, Fujairah. Prada Mode

For the first time, Prada Mode is bringing its exclusive cultural club to MiZa, Mina Zayed, transforming the space into a hub of art, fashion and culture. Curated by Theaster Gates and programmed by Myrna Ayad, this edition explores minimalism, craftsmanship and the creative influence of Arab women through a series of talks, performances and installations. While the first two days are invite-only, the event opens to the public on 13-14th February, with complimentary access on a first-come, first-served basis.

Kimyona

Found in Riyadh’s Airline Building, Kimyona is a new speakeasy-style dining experience blending architectural interest with a touch of mystery. Inspired by a photographer’s darkroom, the space unfolds from a brightly lit gallery entrance into a moody dining hall, where reclaimed ceramics and sleek steel accents set the tone. Named Café/Restaurant of the Year at the Archello Awards '24, its cutting-edge design and innovative take on Asian cuisine make it one of the city’s most intriguing new openings.

ICD Brookfield Place Cocktail Week

Until 17th February, ICD Brookfield Place is turning into a cocktail hotspot as some of the region's coolest bars – Bar Des Prés, Il Gattopardo, Josette, La Niña, Lulu & the Beanstalk, The Guild and 1920 – come together for a week of expertly crafted drinks.
