Five Luxe

Playa Pacha is a glamorous beach and pool club hailing from Ibiza – and it’s guaranteed to be the main talking point of Five Luxe, Dubai’s latest beachfront luxury hotel. Dior Spa

Dior has bided its time before opening its first ever spa in the UAE, but it chose the location wisely. The Lana is the magnificent new hotel from the Dorchester Collection – and now home to a Dior Spa on the 29th floor. Comprising five treatment rooms and one couple’s suite, clients can book treatments including icoone laser therapy, Hydrafacials, microdermabrasion and the Dior Skin Light LED therapy mask.

BEACH CLUBS

Sunset 55

This laidback new beach club is peppered with artful fabrics, wooden furniture and natural materials that create a relaxing, chilled but still luxe spot for evening sundowners. Set on the beachfront of Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah, Sunset 55 is a throwback to 1950s beach culture, complete with food and drinks served on the sand.

Tagomago Pool

As part of its refurb, Tagomago has added a swimming pool just in time for the hottest time of the year. The Ibiza-styled beach club on the Palm has built an inviting pool that sits between its Spanish restaurant and daybeds on the sand. There’ll be no pink donut floaties blocking your swim here however – the pool is strictly adults only.

BCH:CLB 

This stylish new beach club at W Dubai The Palm is doing things a little bit differently to other venues in the city. Removing the vowels from its name, the edgy BCH:CLB offers a menu full of Mediterranean food, in surroundings that have been decked out with contemporary art, seductive sun loungers and a calendar of live music events to see you through the season. Guests can book daybeds, cabanas or a beach house.

Sagetsu 

The Link continues its assault on Dubai’s food scene with Sagetsu, a new Japanese restaurant from renowned Australian chef Tetsuya Wakuda. Taking its name from the Japanese words for sand and moon, Sagetsu blends gastronomy and astronomy in a seasonal menu. Attached to One&Only One Za’abeel hotel, The Link houses 11 top restaurants by some of the world’s best chefs including Paco Morales, Anne-Sophie Pic and Dabiz Muñoz.

La Mar

Acclaimed Peruvian chef Gastón Acurio has launched a Saturday brunch at his restaurant, La Mar, at Atlantis The Royal. Crafting authentic Peruvian dishes for the entertaining Pisco Brunch on the hotel’s second floor, diners should grab a table near the live music or on the beautiful terrace to enjoy Acurio’s zesty ceviche creations. Starts from 12:30pm.

Shima

The experts behind Chic Nonna and L’Amo Bistro del Mare – two of Dubai’s best new restaurants in the last couple of years – are opening a high-end Japanese spot at One Palm Jumeirah Dorchester Collection. Shima will allow chef Koyi Tanabe to unleash his creativity in a stunning environment on the Palm. Born in Peru, Tanabe honed his craft in South America and Europe before landing in Dubai.

Izu Ani’s new eatery Maison de la Plage has to be one of Dubai’s busiest restaurants of the year. The stylish indoor/outdoor restaurant and beach club on the Palm’s West Beach boardwalk was full. Of fashionably laid-back trendsetters in designer threads – all of whom were on site to enjoy colourful sharing plates. Book an al fresco table now before the summer heats up.

Alizée

Health tourism is a hot trend in the hospitality industry right now and it’s arguably what’s led to the recent opening of the Banyan Tree Dubai’s new wellness resort. Offering a menu of nutritious seafood dishes and salads from the south of France, boho-chic restaurant Alizée also offers up a great view of the Ain Dubai ferris wheel.

L’École Middle East, School of Jewelry Arts 

The L’École Middle East, School of Jewelry Arts in Dubai has a new campus in Dubai Design District iled by renowned designer and interior architect Constance Guisset. There, a team of art historians, gemologists, jewellers, and artisans will teach hands-on classes on the history of jewellery, gemstones, and jewellery making techniques to people with all levels of knowledge. To mark the school’s opening, an exhibition – Gold & Treasures: 3000 Years of Chinese Ornaments – will run from 26th April-10th August 2024.
