A Cool Entrepreneur Shares Her Jeddah Beauty Guide

Saudi-based, Marriam Mossalli, is an angel investor in female-led businesses and start-ups that are clean, sustainable, and authentic. One of her latest acquisitions is Powder Beauty – the region’s first platform dedicated to clean beauty – as well as KIN Euphorics, the world’s first functional adult beverage. To find out where she goes for treatments and where she shops, we asked her to share her favourite beauty spots…

FACE & BODY

I love a good facial – they’re one of my favourite go-to treatments. Oriana Spa on the corniche is the place to go. It's all about being pampered – afterwards, I guarantee you will look so good. I usually get the Deep Clean Facial and Hammam Magrabi. I have two kids and 20 employees so if I can’t get out, my weekly escape is a full body massage. I use Bimini Beauty’s home services owned by Nada Baeshen – I highly recommend the Swedish massage with Catherine.

TWEAKMENTS

Jeddah is full of tweakment services, but one place I swear by is Sculptura by Dr Alaa Aref — her luxury clinic ReNew is all about making you feel naturally beautiful. Jeddah’s best kept secret is Dr Kashmar at CosmoDerm Clinics – everyone goes to him, even those who say they don’t. He’s so good, you can probably go to him and then tell your friends you haven’t had anything done!

BUYING BEAUTY

I’m biased, but I now buy all my beauty products at PowderBeauty.com. It’s the region’s first platform dedicated to clean beauty and has all of my favourite brands – from Nutrili to Bali Body and Dr. Barbara Sturm. It’s the same for make-up – Powder Beauty has a shop-in-shop service at one of Jeddah’s oldest and coolest multi-brand concept stores, Sabine Boutique. Finally, for fragrance I go to Ibrahim Alqurashi for Oud and Fawah – it’s owned by Princess Noura Bint Abdullah and is a local go-to for Jeddawis.

WELLNESS

The St Regis Red Sea and AlUla’s Banyan Tree resorts aren’t in Jeddah, but are very accessible from my coastal hometown and are great places to wind down at the weekend. For my own sanity, I leave work and the kids and head to Flex Studio, which is owned by Rawan Magadmi. Her reformer classes are for those who take Pilates seriously – she also has an amazing strength and cardio class that includes a surfboard to work on core strength. Most places in Jeddah are under the radar; it’s a very different vibe to Riyadh. It’s a coastal city and everything is low-key and laidback but if there is one thing to feel inspired by here, it’s the beauty of the ocean – which Jeddah is named after, ‘the bride of the sea.’

GROOMING

The only stylist I allow to touch my hair is Munira at Dessange Jeddah. From ombre colouring to Brigitte Bardot styling, no one does it better. For my nails, I’m now obsessed with Color Nude – it’s new and I can’t get enough. They do the best Russian gel nail art and whenever I walk out of there, I feel like my nails deserve their own TikTok account. Finally, brows are such an important feature, and Sugar Eyebrows is where I go. Master Wafaa is the best I’ve had, if you can get a spot on the waiting list. I have friends who fly in from Riyadh and Dubai just to get their eyebrows done by her.
