Meet The Designer: Yasmin Mansour

I began sketching as a child. It didn’t take long for me to realise that fashion was more than just creating beautiful garments – it was a way to connect with people and share a deeper narrative. 

Fashion has always been a form of self-expression – a way to tell stories through texture, form and movement. Growing up in Doha, I was surrounded by a mix of cultural influences that sparked my interest in combining traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.  

I started designing pieces for myself and my family. I knew I had found something special when I saw the confidence it gave to the people around me. In 2017, I decided to take the leap and launch my own label. The brand was born out of a desire to create pieces that marry modern aesthetics with my cultural heritage, and that’s what continues to drive me today. 

My designs are bold yet refined. I draw inspiration from structure and the art of sculpting garments that shape a silhouette while embracing fluidity and movement. My work always seeks a balance between strength and softness.

My day-to-day style is simple yet polished. My go-to look? A tailored blazer and sleek trousers – effortless but put-together. Comfort matters as much as style, so I choose pieces that let me move freely throughout the day.

I’ve always gravitated towards tailored pieces – whether it’s a structured jacket, a sleek dress, or my favourite black tailored suit, which I designed myself. There’s something about a perfectly fitted outfit that instantly boosts your confidence. I believe in effortless elegance – clothes that are easy to wear yet make a statement – and a classic, versatile suit does just that, seamlessly shifting from day to night with the right accessories.

I love a silhouette that’s both elegant and commanding. I’ll often choose a dress with a strong shape – something that makes a statement but also moves with me. I like to play with textures, whether it’s a fluid fabric or one that has a bit of structure to it. 

Inspiration comes from everywhere – from the natural beauty of the Qatari desert to the art and architecture. I draw from my heritage and also from the women I design for. Their strength, energy and individuality constantly inspire me to create pieces that empower them and tell their stories.
