Growing up in Brazil, I was always inspired by its vibrant culture and tropical landscapes. I always wanted to create a brand that combines Brazilian charm with everyday elegance – Adriana Degreas was born from that vision. My husband, a pioneer in beachwear, helped introduce me to the industry, and it is something I have been passionate about ever since.
Balancing my time between Miami and São Paulo keeps my creativity alive – both cities are full of energy. São Paulo, in particular, is a constant source of inspiration. The people have an effortless way of expressing style and culture, and each neighbourhood has its own rhythm. Though we’re a bit removed from the coast, there’s an undeniable pulse here – colourful, charming and authentic. Brazil is an endless source of creativity.
My personal style aesthetic is very aligned with my brand. I love refined, effortless pieces with a touch of vintage and bold accessories. Currently, for handbags I love the Alaïa Le Click East West, its size and woven leather texture make it so versatile. Then there’s the Loewe Paseo bag in soft calfskin – its minimal, sculptural shape would work beautifully with vintage-inspired looks. For footwear, I love the Chanel Primavera-Verao platform sandals, and I’m also really into my Celine sunglasses.
Forget sprawling department stores – São Paulo’s style scene is all about curated gems. Two of my favourites are CJ Mares, a beautifully edited multibrand boutique with over 70 Brazilian and international designers, and NK Store at Shopping Iguatemi – South America’s oldest luxury shopping centre. Both offer unique, statement pieces you won’t find anywhere else. Although São Paulo has its hidden gems, the best vintage store I’ve ever discovered is in Miami, my second home. It’s called Hillsborough Antiques & Interiors, and it has over 35,000 square feet of rare treasures. I’ve found a few amazing one-of-a-kind pieces there.
São Paulo has no shortage of incredible culinary spots. When I’m in the mood for a great steak, I head to Rodeio Steakhouse, which has two locations. And when I’m craving the comfort of a traditional feijoada – a rich Brazilian black bean stew – I always go to La Tambouille in Itaim Bibi. It never disappoints. My go-to spot for a morning caffeine fix is Padoca do Mani, a relaxed and stylish bakery-café where brunch is always a treat. They have a big menu and it’s a great place to catch up with friends and enjoy a peaceful brunch.
For first-time visitors, I always recommend The Rosewood Hotel in Bella Vista. It’s beautifully designed, blending understated luxury with Brazilian charm. For those who want to be in the heart of the city’s action, Hotel Fasano São Paulo Itaim is a sleek and sophisticated choice. And for a more tranquil, nature-infused escape without leaving the city, Palácio Tangará is ideal – especially if you’re travelling with children.
My ideal day in São Paulo starts with a relaxing massage – a moment just for myself to slow down and leave behind the hectic pace of the work week. From there, I have lunch at my mother’s, where I can catch up with my family and savour some home-cooked Brazilian food. In the evening, I head to the Jardins area to meet friends at Kotchi, a new Asian bar I love, which is perfect for evening drinks.
When I’m in Brazil, SPF is non-negotiable – I apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50 every morning, rain or shine. I swear by lightweight vitamin C serums for that lit-from-within glow and added sun protection, and I never skip on hydration – moisturiser and plenty of water are a must. As for what’s always in my suitcase? Chanel’s La Crème Main to keep my skin soft, a few Adriana Degreas dresses that work for any occasion, Linda Farrow Mima sunglasses, Marvis toothpaste – my little luxury – and, of course, my iPad.
Outside of Brazil, my go-to resort destination is Saint Barths – the definition of laid-back luxury with some of the most pristine beaches around. I always stay at Cheval Blanc St-Barth Isle de France – it’s elegant, intimate, and right on the sand. I’m also a huge fan of Porto Cervo in Sardinia for its crystal-clear waters, chic summer crowd and incredible food. Hotel Cala di Volpe is my top pick – all rustic charm and iconic views – and I never leave without a meal at Ristorante Lu Pisantinu. Their fresh seafood pasta is unforgettable. I try to go every summer – it’s that good.
