The New Floral Studio
UrArtU
UrArtU Gallery’s new flower studio at Alserkal Avenue has set a new standard for floristry in the region, serving as both a boutique and an immersive spatial experience. Designed by Crosby Studios under the direction of Harry Nuriev, the 220-square-metre space blends contemporary art, architecture and storytelling, turning blooms into architectural gestures rather than simple decoration. Gurgen Yeritsyan, founder and creative director of UrArtU Gallery, wanted the studio to double as a gallery and a multi-purpose venue for exhibitions, workshops, and pop-ups. Italian marble detailing and reflective aluminium finishes give the space its look. There’s a dramatic six-metre-high aluminium orchid sculpture that hangs from the ceiling as the centrepiece, and a red-lit walk-in fridge also adds a striking focal point. A dedicated coffee area and upstairs programming space round off the experience.

The Crossover Dish
Kira
KIRA – the fine-dining Japanese–Mediterranean restaurant located within the new luxe Marsa Al Arab – has launched a standout crossover dish that blends Japanese precision with Italian comfort food: Gyoza Cacio e Pepe. Made with Japanese wagyu trimmings, slow-cooked into a deeply rich, umami-packed Italian-style ragù, the dish was initially conceived as lasagna before the chefs reimagined its best element – the caramelised edges – as gyoza. Grilled on the plancha for a crisp base while keeping the filling indulgently soft, each bite is finished with a creamy, peppery Cacio e Pepe dip that perfectly balances the richness.
